Exports of minerals from Iran’s Khuzestan Province increase by 28 percent

Some 1.46 million tons of minerals and construction materials were exported from Khuzestan Province in southwest Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year, which began on March 20, showing a 28-percent rise in terms of value year on year, the IRNA News Agency reported.

The exports rose also by 82 percent in terms of weight.

The value of exported goods, mostly construction materials, sand and gravels, plaster and lime, amounted to $75.637 million, according to the report. The goods were exported to the Persian Gulf littoral states.

Iran is ranked among the 15 major mineral-rich countries of the world and exports its industrial and mineral products to 159 countries, including Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, India and Afghanistan.
