Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, who is in Cairo to attend a joint session with his Egyptian, Saudi and Turkish counterparts on Syria, says he is hopeful that the four countries would reach a peaceful solution to Syria crisis while considering their common principles on the issue, IRNA reported.

Salehi told reporters upon arrival in Cairo International Airport that there might be difference of opinion among the four countries but efforts would be made to minimize them.

He said participation in the Cairo meeting was on an invitation by Egyptian President and Foreign Minister.

He said the Cairo Meeting, preceded by last week meeting of senior experts, would provide a chance for participants to raise their meeting.

"In our opinion Cairo meeting was in line with Tehran consultative meeting on Syria and formation of a contact group."
