Iranian cooperatives export $1 billion worth of goods

Iranian cooperatives have exported approximately $1 billion worth of goods since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20), IRIB reported.

Roughly 181,000 cooperatives are active nationwide with over 43 million members, and more than 2,500 cooperative unions have been registered in the country.

Iran transacted $56.38 billion worth of goods with other countries during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, Iranian Customs Administration Head Abbas Memarnejad said.

"Over 45 million tons of goods (including condensates), worth $24.67 billion were exported and 23.54 million tons of goods, worth $31.71 billion were imported during the 7-month period," he added.

The exports and imports decreased by 1.44 percent and 7.94 percent respectively compared to the same period last year, he noted.
