Kazakhstan says ready to host Iran and G 5+1 talks

Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov said that Kazakhstan is ready to host Tehran and Group 5+1 talks, Ria Novosti reported.

Idrisov, who is in Moscow for a 2-day visit, said that has told its partners that it wants to help normalize relations between Iran and international community.

He added that Kazakhstan is ready to prepare appropriate place for holding negotiation between Iran and Group 5+1 about nuclear program.

The senior diplomat said that leadership of Kazakhstan has told its western partners that they should not escalate confrontation with Iran.

Idrisova said that Khazakhstan intends to settle Iran's problem through accessible methods and in this concern cities of Astana and Alma-Ati are ready to host the talks.

In July 2012, Ali Akbar Salehi has already said that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev is ready to host future nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 group (the permanent members of the UN Security Council-the U.S., Britain, France, Russia and China) plus Germany.

The West, led by the United States, has imposed sanctions against Iran, accusing Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran has repeatedly dismissed the Western allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has every right to pursue nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
