Two tremors measuring 3.1 and 4.2 on Richter scale, jolted Bojnourd city, capital of Northern Khorasan province on Friday evening, IRNA reported.
According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the first tremor occurred at 20:14 hours local time ( 15:44 hours GMT) and the second one at 20:25 hours local time ( 15:55 hours GMT).
The first tremor epicenter was at 37.40 degrees latitude and 57.37 degrees longitude and the second at 37.43 degrees latitude and 57.38 degrees longitude.
The first one happened in depth of 13 kilometers and the second in depth of 5 kilometers underground and caused panic among city residents.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
