Iranian FM appointed as head of Atomic Energy Organization

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani appointed Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi as the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, IRNA reported.

From 1997 to 2005 Salehi served as Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the IAEA.

Salehi served as vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran from 2009 to 2010.

Ex-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appointed him as minister of foreign affairs on January 30th, 2011.
