Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to visit South Africa by the end of this week, deputy FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, Mehr news agency reported.

Abdollahian made the remarks on Iran's television channel. According to Abdollahian, Zarif will be meeting with South African officials.

Abdollahian also said that Iran's Foreign Minister will meet with heads of private companies in South Africa, and discuss Iran's cooperation with these companies, as well as investment opportunities.

He went on to say that after South Africa, Zarif will visit Turkey.

It should be noted that earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also said that his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay an official visit to Turkey next week to discuss regional issues with the country's senior officials.

Davutoglu made the announcement at a press conference following a Friday meeting with visiting Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari during which the two sides exchanged views on regional developments, in particular the Syrian crisis.

He went on to say that Turkey will continue its contacts with neighboring and regional countries to find solutions for regional issues.
