Iran to stop enriching uranium up to 20 percent, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said, AFP reported on Jan. 20.

"Iran will make an important move and will stop enriching uranium to 20 percent today at 12:00 (local time), " Salehi said.

Earlier today, Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran has started implementing the action plan based on the Nov. 24 agreement reached with P5+1 group.

Iran and the P5+1 reached a nuclear agreement on Nov. 24. Iran has agreed to curb some of its nuclear activities for six months in return for sanctions relief.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.
