The U.S. must allow self-determination and separation of those of its states that desire it, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said, Iran's Asriran news website reported.
He went on to add that the people of the U.S. fight against the policy of the government in various states, and because of this, the U.S. government must give these people the right for self-determination and separation.
Among the problems that the people of the U.S. are facing, Jazayeri named financial issues, problems with human rights, cultural, social and ethnical problems, differences in classes and so on.
"In such cases, the government tries to hide problems through the media," he said. "The international community must pay attention to the demands of the people in the U.S."
"People in various U.S. states have the right to decide for themselves how to have their own state and their own government, and the U.S. government cannot prevent them from doing so," Jazayeri underscored.
The official went on to add that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Libertarian groups and movements in the world.
