Iranian Customs Administration Director Masoud Karbasian has attended the 15th Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administrations Conference of the World Customs Organization.
This is for the first time an Iranian official attends the conference after eight years of absence, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on April 29.
The World Customs Organization (WCO) is an independent intergovernmental body whose mission is to improve the administration of customs.
With a growing worldwide membership the WCO has divided its membership into six regions. There are currently 33 WCO members in the Asia/Pacific Region.
