It is reported that residents of Tabriz took to the streets due to lack of water.
Mohammad Khani, executive director of the Water and Sewerage Company of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, said that the Nahand dam, which supplies drinking water to Baghmisheh district in the northern part of Tabriz, ran out of water.
"In order to permanently solve the water problem in Baghmisheh district of Tabriz, work is underway to connect the pipeline to the Zarrinarud river (Cighati). The problem of water shortages in the northern part of Tabriz will be solved within 4 days. All areas of Tabriz are supplied with water; only in Baghmisheh district will water be cut for 12 hours daily," he added.
Khani apologized to the residents for the problem of a water shortage in the north of Tabriz.
