BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. Iran and Pakistan may establish mechanism to streamline trade exchanges for smoother transactions, Trend reports.
Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Iran's Ambassador to Islamabad, and Sami Saeed, Pakistan's Caretaker Minister for Planning and Development, have held a meeting to discuss enhancing the bilateral relationship, particularly in the energy and economic sectors.
Both parties examined various ways of cooperation, including trade, the Pakistan-China joint economic corridor plan, and cooperation in energy and economic domains.
They underscored the necessity of fortifying trade and communication links between Iran and Pakistan and expressed mutual aspirations to boost the trade volume between the two nations.
Amiri Moghaddam advocated for expanded mutual ties across all trade and economic sectors. He emphasized cooperation within the ECO Organization, East-West corridor, and bilateral as well as multilateral collaboration in the ports of both countries, highlighting the need for increased border cooperation.
Saeed, on his part, acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Iran and Pakistan and called for further strengthening of bilateral ties.
