BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. The export of non-oil products from North Khorasan Province, located in the northeast of Iran, amounted to 510,000 tons worth about $149 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Chairman of the Industrial, Mining, and Trade Organization of Iran's North Khorasan Province Hossein Hajibegloo said, Trend reports.
According to him, last year, non-oil exports from Iran's North Khorasan Province decreased by 34 percent in value terms and increased by 31 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023).
Hajibegloo stated that 17 new products were added to the province's non-oil exports last year, which increased the number of types of non-oil products exported from the province to 39. The most exported products were petrochemical products, steel products, cement, aluminum ingots, agricultural products, and others.
The official pointed out that four new nations were added to the list of countries to whom regional products are exported last year. Lebanon, Somalia, Jordan, and India are the countries involved. Thus, it was sold to 23 countries last year, including Iraq, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Germany.
Meanwhile, 18 industrial parks and one special economic zone are operating in North Khorasan Province. A total of 327 enterprises operate on these sites.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Compared to the previous year, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms.
