Iran has introduced the transportation and urban development projects worth €25 billion during the Iran Transportation and Urban Development Summit held October 3-4 in capital Tehran.

While addressing the summit, Deputy Minister of Transportation and Urban Development Amir Amini said the projects are ranged in eight groups of rail, road, air, and sea transportation, as well as urban development, energy saving, port industry and airport industry, Fars news agency reported October 3.

He added the projects are 121 in number and are targeted at both domestic and foreign-based companies.

Head of Iran's Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance, Mohammad Khazaei, said on September 14 that Iran has prepared five plans to attract $30 billion worth foreign investments during the country's sixth five-year development plan (2016-2021).

The organization started a comprehensive program one year ago to absorb foreign investment and external sources of finance to the country's infrastructure projects, he added.

Revising executive procedures, improving and modifying regulations and laws, removing bottlenecks, and forming ad hoc committees were among the most important measures which have been taken in this regard, he explained.

Iran's sixth five-year development plan comprises general policies on economic, technological, social, security and defensive, foreign policy, legal, and cultural affairs.
