By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Transit of oil products from Iran's Shahid Rajaee Port grew by 55 percent in the first half of the current Iranian fiscal year, which began on March 21.
Over 534,000 tons of oil products were transited from the port in the six-month period, the website of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran reported.
Meanwhile, 4.927 million tons of oil products were shipped from the port in the same period, of which 1.425 million tons were loaded and 3.502 million tons were unloaded.
Also, 2.967 million tons of oil products were exported from the port, a 13 percent rise year-on-year.
According to statistics, nearly 85 percent of Iran's container traffic passes through Shahid Rajaee Port. The port accounts for 55 percent of Iran's total exports and imports, and 70 percent of the country's transit.
