Iran ups gas delivery to power plants by 15%

Iran increased gas supply to its power plants by 15 percent to 50.807 billion cubic meters during 330 days of the current fiscal year, which started on March 21, 2015.

According to a weekly report of Iran's Energy Ministry, published Feb. 18, about 5.501 billion liters of diesel and 6.349 billion liters of mazut were consumed by the country's power sector in 11 months of the fiscal year.

In total, 257.11 billion kWh of electricity was produced during this period, of which 9.243 billion kWh (+5%) was exported.

Iran also imported 3.749 billion kWh (+9%) of electricity.

Additionally, Iran increased power production capacity by 606 MW to 73,758 MW during the mentioned period.
