Iran officially moved clocks forward by one hour at midnight on March 20, to observe the daylight saving time (DST).
The country will turn clocks back by an hour on Sept. 20, IRNA news agency reported.
Iran's parliament passed a bill on DST in 2007, mandating the official time to be changed twice a year.
According to the bill, the country's official time is changed at the beginning of the Iranian calendar year (starts on March 21 or on March 20 in leap years) and at the start of the second half of the Iranian year in September.
DST is the convention of advancing clocks by one hour so that evenings include more hours of daylight.
A number of governments around the world promote DST as an energy conservation measure explaining it as a help to substitute natural summer sunlight for electric lighting.
