On April 18 the Iranian industry ministry also announced that has agreed to issue authorization for imports of German-made Opel cars.

Under the authorization, the German company's models - Opel Adam and Opel Corsa - will be imported into Iran.

Iran imported 51,522 sedan cars, worth $1.23 billion, during the last Iranian fiscal year that ended on March 20, showing a fall by 50.4 percent in terms of amount and 42.8 percent in terms of value year on year.
