Work related incidents reached 1,804 in Iran during spring, according to the country’s labor ministry.
The figure indicates a rise by 14.8 percent when compared to winter, Mehr news agency reported Oct. 22.
At least 161 people died as a result of work-related incidents in the spring 2016, according to the report.
Almost 36 percent of work-related incidents occurred in Tehran (298 incidents), Esfahan(197 incidents), East Azerbaijan(154 incidents) provinces.
The statistics also unveil that the most work-related incidents occurred in the housing sector (42.7 percent), followed by the industry sector (32.4 percent).
The most prevalent causes of work-related death in Iran are falling, head injury, burns, and generalized hypoxia (condition in which the body does not receive adequate oxygen).
