Drones to deliver postal parcels in Iran

The Iranian post company has announced that it is planning to get use of a drone in delivering postal parcels in the capital city, Tehran.

Hossein Mehry, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Post Company, said the drone, which will be made by an Iranian ICT college, Faculty of ICT, is expected to be employed for shipping of the objects that need urgent delivery, Mehr news agency reported Oct. 27.

According to the official, the drone will have a flight range of 10 kilometers and will be able to carry objects with a weight of up to 4 kilograms.

The official further added that his company and Faculty of ICT have signed an agreement to provide the Iran Post Company’s staff with training on telecommunication and postal sciences.
