Six Iranian large banks have accumulated at least $2.8 billion (90 trillion rials) of losses over the past three years.

The total capital of the six banks of Tejarat, Mellat, Saderat, Parsian, Eghtesad Novin and Sarmayeh equals $5.9 billion (190 trillion rials), Nasimonline news agency reported.

According to the report, the accumulated loss of Bank Saderat stood at $1.9 billion (62.8 trillion rials) last December.

Tejarat Bank accumulated $386.2 million (12.3 trillion rials), while the figure for Bank Mellat stood at $67.5 million.

Bank Parsian, Eghtesad Novin Bank and Sarmayeh Bank accumulated $170.9 million (5.4 trillion rials), $172.5 million (5.5 trillion rials) and $61.2 million (1.9 trillion rials) of losses respectively.

The report further mentioned that all the six banks have been listed at
Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE).
