Iranian CEOs get paid 30 times more than labor workers

The chief executive officers in Iran get paid 30 times more than labor workers, spokesman of Iran's Labor Unions Supreme Center Hadi Abavi said Mar.3.

According to him, the salary difference between CEOs and ordinary workers is huge and it is injustice, Tasnim news agency reported.

The lowest labor salary in Iran is about 8,120,000 rials per month (equals to $250 during the current fiscal year, started on March 21). The figure is 14 percent more than it was during the last fiscal year, but the inflation rate in Iran is very high.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the consumer price index inflation would reach 8.9 percent in the current fiscal year, started March 21. The figure was about 45 percent in mid-2013.

The inflation rate would increase next year, but it falls in a year to March 2018 again to about 11 percent and would become single digit after that.
