Official reveals details on Iran's South Pars gas field phase 11

Engineers in charge of developing the South Pars gas field’s phase 11 in southern Iran have completed the base design of the project.

Rasoul Fallahnezhad, an official with Pars Oil and Gas Company, has said that his colleagues have prepared the required documents for issuing tenders for subcontracts on developing the phase 11, IRNA news agency reported.

Forecasting that the projects will be launched in 2018, he expressed hope that the tenders would be hold by the end of the current year.

Total and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) signed a contract for the development and production of phase 11 of South Pars (SP11) back in July. South Pars is known as the world's biggest gas field.

The project will have a production capacity of 2 billion cubic feet per day or 400,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day including condensate. The produced gas will supply the Iranian domestic market starting in 2021.
