Iran’s state-run companies’ steel exports jump up

The exports of nine major steel factories in Iran increased by 27 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20, Nov. 22).

During the mentioned time, these nine factories exported 4,566 million tons of crude steel and steel products, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported Dec. 9.

Theese factories are Esfahan Steel Company, Mobarakeh, Khuzestan, Oxin, Hormozgan, Iran Steel Alloy, Azerbaijan, Kaveh and Khorasan steel company.

The steel producers exported 584,847 tons of steel products (bloom, billet, slab, beam, rebar, cast iron ingot and etc.) and crude steel during the eighth Iranian calendar month (ended on Nov. 22), which is more by 57 percent year-on-year.

The 8-month exports is equal to 56.25 percent of the targeted figure for the current fiscal year(to end March 2018).

Based on a 2025 outlook, Iran’s steel output is to reach 55 million tons, 15 million of which should be exported.
