Iran’s machinery exports witness major rise

Iran’s machinery and industrial equipment export has witnessed significant rise during the current fiscal year, started March 20, 2017, Masoud Kamali Ardakani, director general of Trade Promotion Organization of ‎Iran (TPOI) for exports development, said.

Kamali Ardakani said that Iran exported $349 million worth of machinery and industrial equipment in the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Dec. 21, 2017), the public relation department of the TPOI stated Jan. 30.

The figure indicates a rise by 66 percent, the official said, adding that the volume of exports also registered a rise by 7 percent.

Various boilers and furnaces, industrial pumps, compressors and fans, materials transmission equipment, steel rolling equipment and power plant equipment as well as tractors, combines and agricultural implements, industrial valves and machinery of food industry were among the top exported machinery and equipment to target markets, Kamali Ardakani said.

Iraq, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey and Qatar were the main destination of the exports, he added.

The export of industrial valves registered a rise by 91 percent in the 9-month period, he said, adding that export of food industry machinery and equipment for transmission of materials also witnessed rise by 24 and 54 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
