Loading/unloading of oil products at Iran ports sharply falls

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 2.85 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the fourth month of the Iranian fiscal year (June 21-July 22).

The figure stood at 3.435 million tons over the preceding calendar month (May 21-June 21).

The oil products loading/unloading in Iranian ports decreased by 40.4 percent in the last Iranian calendar month, year-on-year, according to the latest data available on the PMO website.

The figure also registered a fall by 17 percent, on a monthly basis.

According to the report, 10 out of POM’s 20 ports, including Abadan, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Chabahar, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Lengeh and Qeshm were involved in oil products loading/unloading during the period.

Shahid Rajaee port had the highest share of oil products loading/unloading (1.61 million tons), followed by Imam Khomeini port (1.086 million tons) and Chabahar port (66,775 tons).

The data indicates that 1.24 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 34.8 percent less year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 1.61 million tons of oil products were loaded at the ports, which was 44.1 percent less compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.

In general, over 14.14 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 20-July 22), indicating a 14.5-percent decrease year-on-year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 10.92 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between June 21 and July 22, 17.5 percent less year-on-year.

In total, over 153 million tons of various goods were loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year, including 46.7 million tons of oil products. The volume is 5.5 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the preceding year.
