The number of complaints about radio waves and radiation has increased, Director General of the Iranian Communications Regulatory Authority Gholam Reza Khaksar said in an interview with Mehr News Agency.

“However, no effects of electromagnetic waves on the diseases have been proven yet," he said.

“Citizens worry about the connection to mobile phone antennas and other radio equipment,” he said. “The number of complaints about electromagnetic and radio waves has been rising since 2001 (March 21).”

“In the first half of the current year (since March 21) 370 cases of radiation have been fixed,” he added. “However, 587 complaints were made last year. Thermal effects of electro-magnetic waves have been proven, but the effects of these waves on the diseases have not been proven and confirmed yet.”
