Catalyst equipment was designed and manufactured within eight months in Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refinery, located in Iran's Markazi Province, Trend reports referring to the company.

The equipment was designed and produced by two engineers of the company.

It is reported that the cost of the equipment, if it were purchased abroad, is estimated at about 10 billion rials (approx. $238,000), while the equipment, which designed and manufactured by local specialists, cost less than 50 million rials (approx. $1,190).

As reported, the domestic manufacturing of the equipment at the Refinery will eliminate Iran's need in similar foreign equipment and will save the company an equivalent of millions of dollars (in Iranian currency) annually.

Shazand Oil Refinery is one of the major petrol producers of Iran, producing the petrol in compliance with the Euro 4 standard. Currently, the plant processes 250,000 barrels of oil and produces 12 million liters of petrol daily.

The plant has moved from using 100 percent light crude oil as fuel for the plant to 55 percent light crude oil and 45 percent crude oil.
