Iran discloses volume of non-oil items exported through Astara checkpoint

The non-oil items worth $121 million were exported through the Astara checkpoint of Iran’s northern Gilan province during five months (March 21-August 22) of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Director General of the Astara checkpoint Rasul Umidi said.

The weight of the exported goods reached 242,000 tons, Umidi added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

He added that among the exported products were mainly agricultural products, chemical products, mining products, metal products, food products, rubber, cement, gypsum, detergents, fabrics, handicrafts, carpets, clothing and footwear.

Umidi said that 49,000 tons of goods worth $105 million were transited through the Astara checkpoint for the reporting period.

Some 6,550 tons worth $26.2 million were exported through the Astara checkpoint within suitcase trade during five months. Among these products were mainly food, agricultural and rubber products, he said.

Umidi said that 747,500 people crossed the Astara checkpoint during five months.
