It is expected that the pressure in Iran’s South Pars gas field will be lowered in the next 3-4 years, Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Mohammad Meshkinfam told IRINN, Trend reports.
According to him, the lowering of pressure in the South Pars gas field has not been felt so far.
He predicted that the pressure in the South Pars gas field will decrease by 28 million cubic meters per year, and said that serious steps need to be taken in order to deal with this.
Meshkinfam also said that the blocks around the South Pars gas field are kept in the center of attention as long-term solutions. With this, a contract for the expansion of the Bilal gas field was signed on September 14, 2019.
The remaining 5 platforms of the South Pars gas field will be installed and gas will be extracted from all blocks (except phase 11) by the end of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
