Iran’s export volume has decreased as a result of the low quality of some products, Tagi Tagipur, Director General of the Department for Quality Assessment of Export and Import Products of Iran’s Institute of Standards and Industrial Research, said.

“The volume of goods which are exported to the countries around the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and CIS countries has decreased,” Tagipur added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The director general added that once there was great interest in the Iranian products in the CIS countries. But the situation has been changed.

“Short-term income is not a viable strategy for Iran,” Tagipur said. “The production must be of high quality to gain the consumer’s trust.”

The export value of Iran’s non-oil products reached $20.9 billion from March 21 through September 22.

The export of goods declined by 10 percent from March 21 through September 22 compared to the same period of last year.
