Iran's imports via borders of Kermanshah province exceeds $37M

In the first seven months (from March 21 to Oct. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Iran imported 18,400 tons of goods for $37.8 million via borders of its Kermanshah province, an official with Kermanshah Customs Administration Khalel Heydari said, Trend reports via IRNA.

According to Heydari, compared to the same period of the previous year, the imports increased by 136 percent in terms of value, and by 126 percent in terms of weight.

The customs official added that 15,600 tons of goods worth $22.8 million were imported via Parvizkhan border.

Moreover, 2,450 tons of goods worth $14.6 million were imported via Kermanshah county, Heydari said.

Khosravi border accounted for the imports of 379 tons of goods worth $235,900, Heydari added.

The goods were mainly imported from 15 countries, Heydari said, adding that Iraq alone accounted for 14,200 tons of goods worth $23.9 million that were imported via borders of Kermanshah province to Iran.

Moreover, 730 tons of goods worth $5.76 million were imported from China, while 122 tons of goods worth $1.55 million were imported from South Korea, Heydari said.

According to the customs official, main imports were unprocessed aluminium alloy, steering for pickups and tractors, as well as bus tires.

Iran's Kermanshah province shares 371 kilometers of borderline with Iraq. Six customs and border markets operate along the border. About half of Iran's non-oil exports to Iraq are exported from this province.
