Over 4 billion euros to be invested in Iran's copper industry

In the upcoming five years, 1.8 billion euros and 130 trillion rials (roughly 2.8 billion euros) are expected to be invested in Iran's copper industry, Khodadad Gharibpour, head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), said at the unveiling ceremony of integration plan of information systems of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO), Trend reports citing IRNA.

A project on the production of sulfuric acid worth €110 million of investments has been commissioned in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Gharibpour said.

This Iranian, various IMIDRO related projects with the total investments of 45 trillion rials (over $1 billion) will be implemented, the IMIDRO head added.

Presently, alongside with the projects aimed to increase the production of Iran's copper industry, serious measures are being taken to enhance exploratory work in the country, Gharibpour said.

Promising projects are being implemented in the Sungun area of Iran's East Azerbaijan, the Sarcheshmeh area of Kerman province, as well as in Sistan and Baluchestan province, he said.

Gharibpour said thatthe plan on integration of information systems aims to promote the decision-making process of the management in this sector.

All financial documents will be done online in electronic form thanks to the implementation of integration of information systems.

Upon operation of this integrated system, NICICO has planned to reduce the costs and increase the revenues.
