Iran discloses amount of investments to be made in Gulustan province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 9

A license for investments worth $308 million has been issued for Iran’s northern Gulustan province for this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019) by a delegation from the Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance dealing with foreign investments, Director General of the Organization for Economic Affairs and Finance of the province Davud Tabarsa said.

“These funds will be allocated by three foreign investors for the projects related to tourism sector, food and processing industries and the construction of a power plant,” Tabarsa added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“The biggest investment worth $300 million was made by a Turkish investor in the tourism sector,” the director general said.

Tabarsa has not disclosed the details of two other projects.

“So far, 107 out of 500 projects have been identified as having investment opportunities in the Gulustan province,” the director general said.

The main economic sector in Gulustan province, stretching 20,000 square kilometers, is agriculture.
