Industrial exports of Iran's Alborz province has increased several times in the current Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), compared to previous years, Deputy Governor of Alborz province Jahangir Shahmoradi said at the meeting of the working group on the province's manufacturing industry, Trend reports via IRNA.
In the current Iranian year, so far, the province exported industrial goods worth $441 million, Shahmoradi said.
For comparison, the province's exports of goods amounted to $280 million in monetary terms in the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), Shahmoradi added.
Currently, over 150 large companies have plants in Alborz province, the deputy governor said.
The province accounts for 30 percent of all automobile spare parts manufactured in Iran, he added.
There are 53 pharmaceutical factories in the province, which provide about 70 percent of Iran's demand for medicines, the deputy governor said, adding that Soha factory and a factory in the Eshtehard industrial park of the province produce dialysis filters.
Ninety percent of a type of medicine produced in Alborz is exported to Russia, and Alborz is the only Iranian province doing so, Shahmoradi said.
There are 3,500 industrial enterprises in Alborz.
