Iran's main challenge right now is water and water consumption, said Deputy Energy Minister of Iran Ghassem Taghizadeh Khamesi, Trend reports via IRNA.
He made the remark at the closing ceremony of an art festival devoted to water consumption.
"We are living in a dry and semi-hydrated country and face climate change, the water consumption especially in agriculture sector is not optimal," said Khamesi.
"We should know that proper water consumption for the sake of the future generations.
Khamesi noted that the culture of proper water consumption should be promoted.
The Ministry of Energy has organized the festival following a cooperation agreement with the UNICEF last Iranian year (started March 20,2020) to hold educational and cultural programs for children, related to water management.
The National Painting Water Festival about different issues including water and environment, water and agriculture, compatibility with water shortage, coronavirus and water consumption and recirculation.
