Iran provides needed animal feed inputs for a year - SLAL

TEHRAN, Iran, July 6

The required livestock feed inputs for a year have been provided and available in Iranian ports, the Managing Director of Iran's State Livestock Affairs Logistics(SLAL) said.

So far, over 4.7 million tons of livestock feed inputs have been distributed through the market system, includes 1 million tons of barley, 2.7 million tons of corn, and 1 million tons of soybean meal, Hassan Abbasi said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Currently, there are 4.1 million tons of livestock inputs is available in ports, including 829,000 tons of barley, 2.1 million tons of corn, and more than 700,000 tons of soybean meal,” he added.

Abbasi Maroufan reported that the warehouse of 3.03 million tons of livestock inputs is in the port of Imam Khomeini and the rest in 12 other ports of the country.

To meet the needs of the coming months of the country he says that 14 million tons of livestock inputs have been ordered, which will meet the country's needs by the end of the year.

He says that the drought has reduced the production of wheat and alfalfa as the main livestock inputs used in the country.

Abbasi Maroufan stated that we also have a plan to compensate for the decrease in production.

He announced the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad plans to increase the number of barley imports from 3 million tons to 6 million tons.
