Iran's Tabriz airport sees growth in flights and passenger traffic

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. The number of flights at Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport of East Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, increased by 14 percent in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, Ramin Azeri, director general of the Airports Authority of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, said, Trend reports.

According to Azeri, 11,863 flights were registered at Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport during the 11 months.

He noted that 1,087 flights were registered at Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport in the 11th month (from January 21 through February 19).

Azeri added that 1.48 million (1,484,852) passengers were transported through the airport during the 11th month. This is 11 percent more than the same period last year.

The official of the airport informed that currently, 14 airlines are operating domestic and foreign flights to 15 destinations at Shahid Madani Airport.

Meanwhile, The Shahid Madani Tabriz International Airport of Iran covers an area of 420 hectares.

There are two operating Madani and Sahed-operating in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province.
