Iran's Mercantile Exchange sees rise in weekly sales

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The sales of products at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange amounted to 2.69 million tons worth 218 trillion rials (about $5.19 billion) during the last Iranian week (March 24-28), Iran's Mercantile Exchange said, Trend reports.

Last week, about 2.45 million tons of products worth 131 trillion rials (about $3.12 billion) were sold in the industrial-mining section of the Mercantile Exchange.

Iron ore, cement, steel, sponge iron, copper, aluminum, lead, molybdenum concentrate, and precious metal concentrate were mainly sold in this exchange section.

During the mentioned period, 446,000 tons of products worth 86 trillion rials (about $2.05 billion) were sold in the petrochemicals section of the Mercantile Exchange.

This section of the exchange mainly sells vacuum hud, bitumen, polymer materials, lube cuts, chemicals, sulfur, slap wax, gas, etc.

Approximately 496 tons of products worth 179 billion rials (about $4.26 million) were sold in the Mercantile Exchange sub-market.

Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) is a market that sets prices for various products. The price of products on the stock exchange is determined based on supply and demand. The IME sells strategically important products in bulk, and the Exchange and Securities Organization of Iran supports this.
