Iran reveals volume of product imports from Tajikistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. Iran's product imports from Tajikistan amounted to 29,600 tons worth about $76.6 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, last Iranian year, Iran's import of products from Tajikistan decreased by 3.86 percent in value terms and increased by 6.23 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, Iran's product imports from Tajikistan amounted to 27,900 tons worth $79.6 million in the previous Iranian year.

The statistics show that Iran mainly imported cotton, silk fabrics, various equipment, and so on from Tajikistan in the last Iranian year.

The information indicates that Iran imported 3.450 tons of products worth $8.84 million from Tajikistan for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024).

Additionally, it should be noted that according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's imports last year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing the products manufactured in the country.
