Baghdad is ready for the upcoming nuclear talks between Iran and "5+1" group, Islamic Republic's ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaifer said, IRNA reported.

"Iraq is ready to host the talks. It is a shame that some countries believe that Baghdad is not an effective place to host the talks because of the ongoing conflicts there," Danaifer said.

Ambassador added that Iran's nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili will meet with Iraq's president prime minister and parliament's speaker in Baghdad.

Nuclear talks between Iran and "5+1" group (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany) are set to be held in Baghdad on May 23.

The latest round of the talks between Iran and the six members of the P5+1 group was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on April 14. Both sides hailed the discussions as constructive.
