Russia conducted a fundamental preparation for the "Iran and 5+1 group" nuclear meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said, RIA Novosti reported.

Iran and the P5+1 group (Great Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany) wrapped up their last meeting in Baghdad on Thursday May 24 after two days of negotiations.

Both sides agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow on June 18-19.

The sides also held three rounds of talks, one in Geneva in December 2010, and two in Istanbul in January 2011 and in April 2012.

"Both sides are sticking to the agreements reached during the talks in Baghdad, and the questions of preparations are in the center of discussions," Ryabkov said.

He added that Russia is in contact with all countries, including the EU.

"There is no reason to worry, the preparations for the upcoming talks are very fundamental," Ryabkov said.

Ryabkov added that Russian side is interested in the "Iran-Six" talks to continue without dragging.

The western countries suspect Iran of preparing to make nuclear weapons, yet the Islamic Republic says its nuclear activities aimed at peaceful purposes only.
