Iran will soon start to manufacture tubular cetrifuges, which are needed for country's pharmaceutical sphere, a source in Pasteur Institute of Iran, said, ISNA reported.
The tubular centrifuge is used primarily for the continuous separation of liquids from liquids or of very fine particles from liquids, although in some cases it is employed as a batch-type centrifuge. In general, it is used when higher centrifugal fields are required for separation.
Tubular centrifuges are used in pharmaceutical industries, chemical & food industries, printing ink industries, paint undustries, fuel & oil purification, gum clarification, blood fractionation.
The source noted that tubular centrifuges in Iran will be used for purifying protein, for further drug manufacturing.
According to the source the tubular centrifuge manufacturing in Iran will be put to large-scale, and it will begin in approximately 3 months.
The source also said all parts of the cetrifuge will be made by locals, since the devices that were imported from abroad are either damaged or outdated and cannot be properly used for vaccine production.
In February 2012 Iran has unveiled new achievements of its nuclear program, one of which was a successful placement of a domestically-produced nuclear rod into the Amirabad nuclear reactor.
Denied by the EU to be provided with nuclear fuel rods for the reactor, Iran soon started manufacturing those in the country, and later inserted them into the Amirabad reactor. In total, Iran has put 20 new nuclear fuel rods into the reactor, completely substituting the core.
Iran has taken wide strides in science and technology, particularly in medical and medicinal fields, in recent years.
Iranian Health Minister Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi said in 2011 that the country exports medical tools and equipment worth $12 billion each year and produces 96 percent of its medical needs, adding that the country also produces 70 percent of its needed pharmaceutical raw materials domestically.
Iran says its nuclear program is confined to production of peaceful atomic energy which it says is a fundamental right of any country.
Western nations and Israel have charged that Tehran is secretly working to build nuclear weapons - an assertion Iran vehemently denies.
