Zarif, Ashton, Kerry begin second trilateral talks in Geneva

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and his American counterpart John Kerry for the second time in the recent Geneva talks held trilateral talks on Saturday night, IRNA reported.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and his American counterpart John Kerry for the second time in the recent Geneva talks held trilateral talks on Saturday night, IRNA reported.

The first trilateral meeting between Zarif, Ashton and Kerry held at the UN's European headquarters in Geneva lasted 95 minutes.

All Group 5+1 foreign ministers a5re in Geneva and the reason for presence there is that the negotiations have reached a sensitive point.

The 8th round of talks between Zarif and Ashton ended in Geneva on Saturday night.

Ashton and representatives of the Group 5+1 also had an internal meeting before Ashton's last meeting with Zarif.

Ashton's Spokesman Michael Mann announced that Ashton held a meeting with foreign ministers of the Group 5+1 to inform them about her talks with Zarif.

"Catherine Ashton had intensive talks with Mohammad Javad Zarif throughout the day and now she is holding a session to inform the foreign ministers of the Group 5+1 about her talks with the Iranian foreign ministers," Mann said.

The top Iranian negotiator, Zarif also had meeting with the Chinese and Russian foreign ministers as well as Swiss foreign minister.
