Tehran, Iran, May 13

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) spokesman Behrooz Kamalvandi said that IAEA Secretary General Yukiya Amano has not set any task for Iran 's cooperation with the IAEA, but rather offered his personal interpretation of the Additional Protocol to the NPT.

He said that neither has Iran signed the protocol nor is there any part in the protocol which allows access to the military sites of a country, IRIB news agency reported May 13.

He further said that IAEA's access to concerned areas according to Article Five of the protocol would require evidence and would nonetheless consider the security concerns of Iran as a member state.

Therefore, the Islamic Republic will consider its duties according to Article Five of the protocol once it has signed the protocol, Kamalvandi asserted.

In an interview with AP, Amano said recently that a prospective agreement between Iran and the group 5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany ) would allow the IAEA the right to ask for inspection of Iran 's military sites. Iran has been insisting that it will not allow the IAEA to inspect its military facilitates.

Tehran and the six world powers are going to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran 's nuclear program by June 30.
