Iran is going to receive EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius next week, a senior Iranian diplomat said.

Other high-ranking European officials are also on the agenda for later, Abbas Araqchi, deputy foreign minister told reporters in Tehran July 22.

A wave of European foreign ministers stormed Iran after the Geneva agreement of 2013. Also, after the Vienna agreement this year, visits have become more frequent, such as German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel's visit last week, when he accompanied an economic delegation of 60.

"The Vienna agreement is to lift sanctions on Iran, which will pave the way for economic ties with European countries," he added.

"They had deprived themselves of relations with Iran. But Iran welcomes the new situations and growing ties."

Iran finally reached a comprehensive deal with the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) on July 14 and expects sanctions on its economy to be lifted soon.
