Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 26

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The contract for reducing Iran's enriched uranium deposit is being finalized.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) spokesman Behrooz Kamalvandi said that regarding the reduction of uranium enriched below 5 percent, a contract is being finalized, but details of which cannot be revealed, Iran's ISNA news agency reported Oct. 26.

Referring to possible military dimensions (PMD) of the country's nuclear program, he said: "We took necessary measures by Oct. 15 according to the IAEA report. Samples were taken and questions were answered. We expect the IAEA to issue a report before Dec. 15, though it seems to be impossible before the date due to technical considerations."

Referring to the Bushehr nuclear plant, Kamalvandi said that there is no need to approve the construction of a second nuclear power plant in Bushehr by the parliament.

Only the provision of necessary budget should be taken into consideration within the framework of annual budget bills, he added.
