Foreign Ministry spokesman Marziyeh Afkham on Thursday strongly condemned a terrorist bomb explosion in the city of Homs of Syria and regret the UN's indifference to involvement of foreign forces in such crimes, IRNA reported.
She said the crime was a an instance of hundreds of other crimes perpetrated by terrorist groups with support of foreign countries over the past four years against innocent women and children.
Behind these crimes one can see the hands of those claiming to be involved in the campaign against terrorism, she said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the inhumans crimes against innocent children and sympathizes with the Syrian government and nation especially the bereaved families of the victims, she said.
She also expressed regret over the United Nations' inaction in dealing with domestic and foreign elements pepetrating such crimes and asked those countries claiming to be involved in the anti-terrorism campaign to cut their financial and military support for the terrorists.
Two car bombs exploded in the central Syrian city of Homs on Wednesday afternoon near a school killing 48 people including 41 children.
The explosions took place as children were leaving school at the end of classes on Wednesday.
The first blast was from a car bomb detonated in front of the Ekrimah primary school, followed minutes later by a suicide bomber who drove by and detonated his vehicle, state television reported.
Since 2011 some 150,000 people have been killed in military conflict between Syrian army and armed terrorist groups in Syria.
