By Fatih Karimov - Trend: There is no specific plan for the Iranian parliament speaker to meet two U.S. senators in New York.
Parliament Speaker's Adviser for International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam said that as Larijani cannot meet representatives of all the countries participating in the Fourth World Conference of Parliament Speakers, so he has put the priority on 20 countries, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported on August 31.
Islamic countries and neighboring countries are prioritized, he noted.
U.S. officials have put in a request for a meeting, he said, adding that Iran's embassy in New York may not be able to arrange a meeting.
The Fourth World Conference of Parliament Speakers opened in New York on August 31 and will continue till September 2.
