Russia-Turkey tension hampers combating terrorism

The tension between Russia and Turkey hampers the efforts of combating terrorism, Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said at a press-conference in Tehran Dec. 1.
Larijani expressed regret in connection with the tension.
"I hope that a more acceptable way will be found to resolve this conflict," he said. "The regional countries must choose a general direction in the fight against terrorism."
Turkish Air Force jets shot down the Russian SU-24 bomber after it entered Turkish airspace Nov. 24. Both pilots managed to eject and the plane crashed on Syrian territory.
Relations between Russia and Turkey have deteriorated after the incident.
